Electrical Power System Quality Engineer (GIS) – 80-100%

About the role

Hitachi Energy's gas-insulated switchgear factory in Zurich is expanding its team with a Customer Quality Engineer position (80-100%, on-site). The role combines technical skills with soft skills for direct customer collaboration, and focuses on quality cases, complaints and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead root cause analysis in GIS quality cases and drive quality cases affecting multiple customers.
• Own internal and external customer complaints and ensure fast, sustainable solutions.
• Manage larger quality cases, identify improvements and drive their implementation.
• Prepare and present reports to internal and external stakeholders.
• Run improvement projects to prevent quality issues from recurring.
• Support or lead on-site investigations and prepare method statements for troubleshooting cases.

Required profile

• 5 years of experience in electrical power systems, including operation and maintenance of transmission and distribution (T&D) systems.
• Background in quality or project management within gas-insulated switchgear.
• Fluent English; German and other languages are beneficial.
• Good communication and cultural sensitivity.

Required skills

• Profound understanding of electrical systems and equipment.
• Commissioning of T&D systems is a plus.
• Experience in quality management and/or project management is a plus.
