Electronics Engineer – High‑Speed Embedded Systems

About the role

3Brain is seeking a full‑time Electronics Engineer to join its R&D team in Switzerland. You will work on cutting‑edge hardware for high‑speed data acquisition devices that connect biological networks to computers.

Key responsibilities

• Design high‑speed embedded systems and architectures for micro‑electrode array products.
• Create low‑level current/voltage instrumentation tools for MEA operation.
• Develop and layout PCBs, integrating high‑speed ADCs, microcontrollers, FPGA‑SoMs, and power supplies.
• Bring‑up, test, measure, characterize and validate electronic subsystems.
• Design and build production test tools and automation fixtures.
• Assemble, debug and test demonstrators and prototype devices.
• Produce comprehensive engineering, production and quality documentation.

Required profile

• BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional hardware design experience.
• Strong independence and ability to collaborate in a multicultural, international environment.
• Fluency in English.

Required skills

• Analog electronics design.
• High‑speed digital system design (simulation, schematics, HDI layout).
• PCB manufacturing knowledge and EMC compliance.
• Hands‑on prototyping, soldering and test‑bench setup.
• Experience with bring‑up, debugging and scaling to mass production.
• Basic signal‑processing concepts (sampling, filtering, aliasing).
• Python programming.
• Microprocessor/firmware development.
