Electronics Technician – CMS Tracker Integration

About the role

You will join the CMS Tracker team at CERN to support the integration and commissioning of services and infrastructure for detector construction. The position focuses on preparing, validating, and testing electronic services and detector components.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and assist with the installation of large detector assemblies, including cables, racks and test setups.
• Set up and operate test electronics, interlocks, sensor interfaces and thermal test configurations.
• Perform reception testing of detector sub‑structures and power distribution hardware.
• Validate integrated electrical services (power, signal, grounding) and troubleshoot construction issues.
• Maintain traceability by updating the production database with test reports and installation data.

Required profile

• Higher technical diploma or equivalent experience in electronics or a related field.
• Hands‑on experience assembling, installing and wiring electronic components.
• Proficiency with electrical testing and measurement equipment.
• Experience maintaining laboratory equipment, inventories and technical documentation.
• Good teamwork, communication and problem‑solving skills.
