Energy Manager (M/W) - VIE Program

About the role

Veolia Industry Building - Switzerland AG is looking for an Energy Manager (M/W) for its VIE (International Volunteer in Business) program in Basel, Switzerland. The role supports the O&M contract with Novartis and strengthens the company's position in the energy management market, managing energy efficiency initiatives and client relationships in an international setting. The program lasts 18 months, starts on 1 January 2027 and requires French nationality.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and monitor energy efficiency KPIs and prepare annual energy balance sheets for federal and cantonal authorities
• Maintain and optimize energy databases and manage monthly meter readings for customers
• Ensure proper functioning of energy and wastewater meters, arrange repairs and handle decommissioning
• Manage access rights in the energy management system and ensure correct billing of energy and wastewater
• Keep in regular contact with customers, advise project managers and operations staff, and plan energy efficiency measures
• Support business development by presenting energy concepts and KPIs to new clients and collaborating with government agencies

Required profile

• Master's degree in Environment, Energy Management, Engineering or an equivalent university qualification
• Internship experience in energy optimization and consumption analysis, or practical background in energy management
• Fluent written and spoken English and German, plus French
• Analytical, customer-focused and proactive attitude

Required skills

• Knowledge of databases and automation (meter functionality, signal transmission) is a plus
• Proficiency with databases and technical systems
