Engine Remanufacturing Design Engineer

About the role

The Engine Remanufacturing Design Engineer acts as the technical bridge between Liebherr Ettlingen and Liebherr Machines Bulle, ensuring that remanufacturing requirements are fully integrated into product development. The role combines design work, cross‑functional coordination, and continuous improvement of engineering processes.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the technical interface between the two Liebherr sites, supporting coordination, alignment, and knowledge exchange on all remanufacturing topics.
• Integrate remanufacturing requirements consistently throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Design, document, and maintain remanufacturing components, including CAD models, technical drawings, BOMs, and PLM data, while meeting cost, quality, schedule, and technical targets.
• Collaborate closely with internal departments and suppliers to ensure technical alignment, clarification, and co‑design for remanufacturing applications.
• Establish and continuously improve remanufacturing engineering processes through guidelines, best practices, and knowledge management.

Required profile

• Completed engineering studies in a relevant discipline.
• Professional experience in combustion engine design, preferably diesel.
• Strong technical expertise in combustion engines and basic ability to interpret simulation results (1D, CFD, FEA, NVH).
• Autonomous, innovative, goal‑driven and comfortable working in an international environment.
• Willingness to travel regularly (approximately once per month) to Liebherr Ettlingen.
• Fluent in English and German; French is a plus.
