Engineer Measurement Technology – Electrical & Physical Testing of Plastics

About the role

Huntsman is looking for an Engineer in Measurement Technology to join its Technology Center in Basel. The role focuses on electrical and physical testing of plastics, supporting R&D and commercial projects while ensuring compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform electrical and physical testing of plastic samples accurately and on schedule.
• Prepare test specimens using mechanical processes such as diamond sawing.
• Develop innovative testing methods and implement new standards (IEC, ISO).
• Document test results in the laboratory information management system (LIMS) and ensure ISO/IEC 17025 compliance.
• Provide technical guidance to trainees and support internal and external project teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, industrial computing, high‑frequency metrology or related field.
• 8‑10 years of experience in high‑frequency and high‑voltage testing environments.
• Fluent in English and German, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• High‑frequency and high‑voltage testing expertise.
• Programming for measurement analysis (VEE, LabVIEW, Python, Excel Macro).
• Use of laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and MS Office.
• Hands‑on experience with mechanical specimen preparation equipment.
