European Patent Attorney

About the role

Join Syngenta Crop Protection's Legal & IP team in Basel as a European Patent Attorney. You will support the commercial objectives of the Crop Protection business by delivering effective IP strategies and providing IP support for transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, file, prosecute and defend patents and patent applications related to crop protection inventions.
• Develop global, regional and country IP strategies and advise on freedom‑to‑operate matters.
• Provide client counselling on patent validity, infringement issues and review IP‑related agreements.

Required profile

• Qualified European Patent Attorney with up to 2 years post‑qualification experience.
• Degree or equivalent experience in organic chemistry or a closely related subject.
• Fluency in English and strong communication, problem‑solving and organisational skills.

Required skills

• Patent drafting and prosecution.
• Organic chemistry knowledge.
