Executive Driver (m/f/d)

About the role

Syngenta Crop Protection is looking for an Executive Driver in Basel to provide safe, proactive and discreet driving for the CEO, senior leadership and VIP guests. The role also supports key logistical and administrative tasks for Executive/Board Services and Facility Management, including projects and archiving.

Key responsibilities

• Drive for the CEO, senior leadership and VIP guests within Switzerland and internationally or near borders as required, with safe, smooth and comfortable driving under elevated security requirements.
• Handle visitors and guests professionally, including luggage and coordination with reception and security at airports and hotels.
• Plan routes and schedules independently, taking traffic, roadworks, weather and security into account.
• Run courier trips and errands, transporting sensitive documents and materials with care and confidentiality.
• Coordinate driving assignments with the CEO Office, Executive Assistants and Board Secretariat, and stay flexible to short-term changes, waiting times and evening appointments.
• Keep the company vehicle clean and well maintained, manage fuel and charging, check tyres, fluids and lighting, and schedule servicing, tyre changes, MFK inspections and repairs.
• Support Facility Management during driving downtimes, helping with archiving and project support.

Required profile

• Completed vocational training or equivalent; minimum 4-5 years of experience as an Executive Driver, Chauffeur or in a comparable service/security role (VIP transport, hotel/concierge, corporate aviation).
• Proven experience dealing with senior executives and VIP guests.
• Full professional proficiency in German and English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Excellent driving skills, with advanced defensive or security driving training a plus.
• Valid First Aid / CPR certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Good knowledge of the Swiss road network or willingness to learn it.
• Discretion, trustworthiness and confidentiality; high service orientation and flexibility, including early mornings, evenings and occasional weekends.

Required skills

• Category B driving licence (mandatory); Category 121 (professional passenger transport) is a plus.
• Basic technical understanding of vehicles to identify and coordinate maintenance needs.
