Experienced Discovery Scientist in Immunology

About the role

Roche is seeking a visionary Discovery Scientist to lead immunology research within its pRED CMI2 team, focusing on inflammatory diseases such as IBD and COPD. The role combines scientific leadership, project management, and mentorship in a collaborative, multinational environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute scientific strategy for novel target identification and validation in inflammatory diseases.
• Lead cross‑functional teams from early discovery through IND‑enabling stages.
• Direct and interpret complex preclinical studies for target validation and therapeutic characterization.
• Evaluate external licensing opportunities and academic collaborations, presenting findings to senior leadership.
• Mentor and develop scientists and post‑doctoral researchers to foster a culture of innovation.

Required profile

• PhD in Life Sciences (cellular/molecular biology, pharmacology, immunology or related field).
• More than 10 years of pharmaceutical industry experience, with a strong background in inflammation research.
• Proven track record leading drug discovery projects from target discovery to Phase 1.
• Experience with both small‑molecule and antibody therapeutic modalities.
• Significant scientific publications in high‑impact journals.
