Experienced Project Engineer – Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking an Experienced Project Engineer to lead technical projects within its Cilag AG facility in Schaffhausen. The role involves designing, installing, and qualifying production equipment, utilities, and infrastructure for pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Manage engineering projects from initiation to execution, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.
• Ensure safe execution of activities in compliance with EHS, cGMP, and corporate regulations.
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (Business Units, QA, EHS&S, sustainability) and global engineering teams.
• Develop business cases to support project funding approvals.

Required profile

• University degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of project engineering experience in the pharmaceutical or chemical industry.
• Strong organization, communication, and influencing skills.
• Fluency in German and English, both oral and written.

Required skills

• Project Management methodologies.
• Familiarity with FPX and Lean processes (certifications a plus).
• Design Thinking methodology.
• Knowledge of cGMP, sustainability, decarbonisation and cleantech solutions.
