Finance Commercial Analyst

About the role

MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company is seeking a Finance Commercial Analyst to join its Finance Department in Geneva. The role supports management and liner planning by delivering financial analyses that drive profitability across MSC’s trade and service portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse MSC trades and services, covering operational, commercial and financial aspects to identify profitability drivers.
• Propose profitability improvement measures to relevant stakeholders.
• Simulate net results for new or modified services, analyse outcomes and present findings to management or liners.
• Estimate preliminary voyage profitability as vessels approach the last port of load.
• Assist liners in benchmarking customer value on a global or trade‑specific basis.
• Complete monthly business analysis reports as requested by management.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Business Management or a maritime‑related field.
• 5‑7 years of experience in a similar analytical role, preferably within shipping or logistics.
• Strong analytical mindset with high accuracy and precision.
• Team player with excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
