Financial Controller – VIE/PANGEO (International Volunteer)

About the role

Join Veolia's VIE/PANGEO program as a Financial Controller in Basel, supporting both local management and corporate leadership with financial reporting, process optimisation and digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in monthly, quarterly and year‑end closing cycles and produce variance analyses.
• Prepare and consolidate financial reporting packs and management dashboards for local and corporate audiences.
• Co‑build annual budgets, periodic re‑forecasts and monitor operational KPIs.
• Leverage Workday, PowerBI and advanced Google Sheets to automate reports and develop dynamic dashboards.
• Conduct ad‑hoc financial studies, profitability reviews and support strategic investment decisions.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Finance, Controlling, Auditing or Management Accounting.
• First professional experience in an external audit firm (Big 4 or tier‑1) or in financial controlling/FP&A.
• Fluent English; German proficiency is an advantage; French nationality required.
• Proactive, autonomous and able to work in a small, agile team.

Required skills

• Advanced Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel modelling.
• Practical experience with Workday ERP.
• Proficiency in PowerBI for dashboard creation.
