Forensic Consultant - Economic Crime Investigations and Compliance

About the role

EY's Forensic & Integrity Services practice in Zurich is looking for a Forensic Consultant to investigate fraud, bribery, corruption and money-laundering matters. You will work on substantive forensic cases for public and private sector clients, helping their leadership and legal counsel investigate facts, resolve disputes and navigate complex regulatory environments, and building compliance programs that manage ethical, reputational and financial risks. The team includes forensic accountants, lawyers, data analysts and tech experts.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate misconduct such as fraud, bribery, corruption and money laundering for clients in different sectors.
• Follow the money by analysing financial data, transactional flows and accounting records to build an evidence-based narrative.
• Research and gather intelligence, including third-party due diligence and OSINT, conduct interviews and write fact-based reports.
• Test, improve, design and implement compliance and anti-fraud management systems.
• Use technology-assisted document reviews, combining human judgement with GenAI, supported by the eDiscovery team.
• Prepare client presentations, status updates and documentation materials.

Required profile

• Master's degree (University / ETH) in economics, business administration, accounting, finance or another relevant field.
• First work experience in consulting, audit, controlling, compliance and/or risk management is beneficial.
• Fluent German and excellent spoken and written English; additional languages are a plus.
• Strong analytical skills, interest in the legal framework of economic crime and intellectual curiosity.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, able to network within the global EY Forensics community and build trusted client relationships.
