Full-Stack Software Developer (Java / React)

About the role

CERN's Engineering Information Management group is seeking a Full‑Stack Developer to design, develop and maintain software that supports critical engineering and information‑management processes for thousands of users daily.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications using Java, React, and Oracle technologies.
• Collaborate with engineers and IT specialists to gather requirements and implement solutions.
• Ensure software quality through testing, debugging, and performance optimisation.
• Participate in Agile development practices within a fast‑paced team.

Required profile

• Experience developing web applications with modern front‑end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js) and Java back‑end.
• Familiarity with Java, React, and Oracle databases.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive learning attitude.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, international environment.
• Willingness to learn CERN‑specific processes (Safety, Access, …).
• Experience with Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) is a plus.
• Fluent in spoken and written English, with a commitment to learn French.

What we offer

• A monthly net stipend of 5 266 CHF or 5 793 CHF depending on degree.
• 30 days paid leave per year plus a two‑week annual closure.
