Full-time House Parent – Boarding School

About the role

The House Parent provides a warm, supportive presence for students living on campus. Working full‑time, the role combines pastoral care, academic monitoring and day‑to‑day operational support to create a safe and inspiring boarding environment. The position starts on 10 August 2026 and requires overnight residence when on duty.

Key responsibilities

• Act "in loco parentis" to safeguard students' emotional, social and physical well‑being, collaborating with counselling and health teams.
• Stay overnight in the boarding house during assigned duties.
• Monitor academic progress, liaise with teachers and provide guidance to help students achieve their goals.
• Promote teamwork, respect and responsibility, fostering a positive house culture.
• Participate actively in student activities, leading by example and encouraging personal passions.
• Oversee daily logistics such as dining supervision, weekend activities and occasional student transportation.
• Maintain regular communication with parents regarding well‑being, academic performance and personal development.
• Respond to emergencies, maintenance issues or missing‑student incidents following established protocols.
• Maintain accurate records and handle administrative tasks to ensure smooth house operations.
• Model empathy, patience and cultural sensitivity to support a diverse student body.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children or young people.
• Proactive, positive mindset with resilience and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
• Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English; French is a significant asset.
• Genuine enthusiasm for boarding life and willingness to lead and join student activities.
• Collaborative spirit and ability to build relationships within a diverse team.
• Valid driving licence for occasional student transport.
