Funded EU Delegation Traineeships in Geneva – Multiple Sections

About the role

We are offering funded traineeships for recent graduates who wish to gain hands‑on experience in the work of the EU Delegation to the United Nations in Geneva. Trainees will be placed in one of several sections – Human Rights, Economic Affairs, Social Affairs & Labour, or Health – for a period of three to six months, starting around September/October 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in drafting briefings, statements and analytical reports for meetings with UN bodies and EU institutions.
• Conduct research and prepare background notes on policy topics relevant to the assigned section.
• Support the organisation of official visits, conferences and high‑level meetings, including logistical arrangements.
• Participate in meetings of the Human Rights Council, ILO, WHO and other UN agencies, taking notes and summarising outcomes.
• Provide general administrative and logistical support to section staff.

Required profile

• Recent university graduate with a strong interest in international relations, diplomacy or multilateral affairs.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Analytical mindset and ability to produce concise briefing material.
• Motivation to work in a multicultural, fast‑paced diplomatic environment.

Required skills

• No specific technical skills are required; proficiency in standard office software is sufficient.
