GenAI Business Development Manager – Zurich

About the role

Alibaba Cloud is looking for a Business Development Manager to accelerate the adoption of its Model as a Service (MaaS) and AI solutions across the DACH region and broader Europe. You will work with AI‑native companies, from startups to large enterprises, helping them leverage generative AI technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, engage and build relationships with AI startups, research institutions and enterprises pursuing AI transformation.
• Drive revenue growth for Alibaba Cloud’s MaaS portfolio, including the Qwen (Tongyi) model family, PAI platform and GPU computing services.
• Develop and execute go‑to‑market strategies tailored to the European market.
• Build a robust sales pipeline through prospecting, events, ecosystem partnerships and referrals.
• Collaborate with solution architects to create customized proposals and product demos.
• Negotiate and close deals, managing the full sales cycle from lead generation to contract signing.
• Gather market intelligence and customer feedback to inform product roadmap and localization.
• Represent Alibaba Cloud at AI conferences, meetups and industry forums across Europe.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of business development, sales or partnership experience in cloud computing, AI/ML or enterprise software.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML technologies, especially large language models and generative AI.
• Existing network within the AI startup ecosystem or enterprise AI community is highly preferred.
• Excellent communication skills in English; fluency in French or German is essential.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.
