Global Human Resources Director

About the role

Bata is seeking a Global Human Resources Director to shape and execute an integrated HR strategy across three core pillars: Global HR Business Partnering, HR Operations for the Swiss headquarters, and Global Compensation & Benefits. Reporting to the Chief Human Capital Officer, you will support roughly 100 employees in more than 30 countries and lead two dedicated specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a strategic HR partner to global functional leaders, driving workforce planning, talent reviews, succession, performance management and organisational development.
• Lead recruitment for senior and global positions, manage international mobility, promotions, transfers, onboarding and off‑boarding.
• Oversee the employee lifecycle for ~55 staff at the Swiss HQ, ensuring payroll, HR administration, insurance and compliance with Swiss employment law.
• Manage the HR budget, personnel‑cost planning and external HR service providers.
• Develop and govern the global compensation and benefits strategy, including salary reviews, job grading, benchmarking and incentive programmes.
• Provide expert advice on compensation, promotions, retention proposals and complex pay decisions.
• Collaborate with regional HR, Finance, Legal, Payroll and external advisers to ensure consistent delivery.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of progressive HR experience in an international, matrixed environment.
• Strong HR Business Partnering background supporting senior global functional leaders.
• Proven experience managing HR professionals or specialist resources.
• Solid knowledge of Swiss employment law, payroll and social security.
• Deep understanding of compensation and benefits, job grading, salary reviews and incentive plans.
• Excellent stakeholder‑management, influencing and communication abilities.
• Fluent in English and French.
