Global Medical Manager – Women’s Health

About the role

Abbott is seeking an experienced Global Medical Manager to lead medical affairs for its Women’s Health portfolio within the Established Pharmaceuticals Division. Reporting to the Global Medical Director, you will work across regions, affiliates, and functions to drive scientific strategy and support product lifecycle activities.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Global Medical Director in reviewing, approving, and overseeing global and regional medical/clinical studies and publications.
• Partner with Global and Regional Marketing to plan and execute pre‑launch activities for cross‑regional products and brands.
• Lead Key Opinion Leader (KOL) identification projects, maintain KOL databases, and communicate potential global KOL candidates to internal stakeholders.
• Participate in product safety and labeling team meetings, write/review scientific documents, and update the product scientific library.
• Collaborate with marketing on promotional materials, ensuring scientific validity of sales aids, web content, and digital platforms.
• Update scientific sections of registration dossiers for geo‑expansion of local products.
• Conduct medical assessments of new licensing and acquisition opportunities.

Required profile

• Medical Doctor degree and/or PhD in a life‑science discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of regional or global responsibility for comparable pharmaceutical products.
• Experience in clinical research and medical affairs within a multinational environment.
• Strong project‑management capabilities across functional areas.
• First international experience, especially in emerging markets, is a plus.
• Excellent English communication skills; additional languages are an asset.
