Group Legal Counsel (80-100%)

About the role

Bystronic, a global technology company focused on sheet metal and material processing, is strengthening its Corporate Team by hiring a Group Legal Counsel (80-100%) at its headquarters in Niederöns (BE). The Group Legal Counsel acts as the main point of contact for all legal matters, giving pragmatic, business-oriented advice to senior management and departments.

Key responsibilities

• Advise management and business functions on a broad range of legal matters
• Draft, review, negotiate and manage contracts such as customer, supplier, procurement, distribution, service and non-disclosure agreements
• Support international business transactions and cross-functional projects
• Provide advice on corporate law, employment law, data protection, compliance and contract law
• Identify and assess legal risks and recommend ways to mitigate them
• Help build, implement and monitor the company's compliance framework
• Assist with M&A activities, corporate transactions and strategic initiatives
• Handle disputes and litigation together with external legal firms
• Deliver legal and compliance training to managers and employees
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and ensure they are implemented

Required profile

• Degree in Law (LL.M. or equivalent), ideally with a strong background in Swiss law
• Several years of experience as in-house Legal Counsel or attorney-at-law
• Experience in an industrial, manufacturing, engineering or technology environment preferred
• Fluent German and English, written and spoken

• Strong expertise in contract law, corporate law and compliance
• Knowledge of employment law and data protection regulations
• Independent, structured, solution-oriented style and strong communication and stakeholder management skills
