Head Design & Construction Management

About the role

The Head of Design & Construction Management (DCM) leads the DCM function, overseeing governance, delivery, financial performance and strategic development of all capital projects within the region. The role ensures transparent, compliant and strategically aligned planning, design, authorization, execution and governance of major capital investments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the regional DCM team and manage third‑party service providers in DCM project management.
• Oversee the full capital appropriation request lifecycle, including project options analysis, feasibility assessments, scope validation, and approval of ECAR/PCAR deliverables, financial assumptions, cost estimates and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with local frameworks such as Swiss SIA standards.
• Accountable for annual capital spend of over USD 100 million, driving financial forecasting, cost control, capitalization alignment and savings commitments.
• Act as senior interface with Real Estate heads, finance controllers, procurement, HSE, business units, external partners, authorities and planners.
• Promote company values, foster a talent‑focused culture and champion diversity and inclusion.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in capital project management, engineering, construction or real estate within regulated environments.
• Deep knowledge of CAR/ECAR processes, financial modelling, cost control and project governance.
• Strong leadership in matrix organisations, managing suppliers, authorities and technical teams.
• Understanding of local regulatory frameworks (e.g., Swiss SIA norms) and GxP standards.
• Strategic mindset with ability to lead organisational transformation such as DCM carve‑outs or NOCC integration.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; German language proficiency.
