Head of Engineering – Luxury Hotel

About the role

The Head of Engineering will lead the technical team at a prestigious luxury hotel, ensuring smooth operation, maintenance, and safety of all facilities. This senior position reports directly to the General Manager and plays a key role in delivering unforgettable guest experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance and technical safety across the entire property, including alarm systems and swimming pool facilities.
• Supervise servicing, repair, and upkeep of all technical equipment, machinery, and tools.
• Conduct regular inspections, prepare defect reports, and coordinate timely resolution of issues.
• Manage supplier quotations, negotiate contracts, and coordinate external specialists for major repairs.
• Lead, train, and develop a team of technicians, holding daily and technical meetings.

Required profile

• Completed vocational training in a technical trade such as electrical engineering, HVAC, or plumbing.
• Several years of experience in maintenance or facilities management, preferably in hospitality.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities, decisive in emergencies, and a structured, reliable work approach.
• Fluent in German and English; additional languages are a plus.
