Head of Technical Operations

About the role

The Head of Technical Operations leads multiple technical domains at Bachem's Bubendorf site, aligning local priorities with the global TechOps strategy. This senior leader supports the Global Head of Technical Operations and drives innovation, compliance, and the implementation of new chemical entities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop teams of domain leads and technical experts across troubleshooting, process optimization, validation, process safety and technical documentation.
• Oversee product stewardship, technology transfers, new product introductions, lifecycle management and provide technical input to CAPEX projects.
• Ensure GMP, regulatory and technical readiness through documentation, audits, inspections and submissions.
• Support digitalization and automation initiatives, including OT systems, process simulations and data analytics.

Required profile

• Master’s or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field.
• 10+ years in GMP‑regulated pharma or CDMO environment, with at least 5 years in senior technical operations leadership.
• Proven experience in transformation, digitalization, automation and data‑driven decision making.
• Fluent in German and English with strong leadership and communication skills.
