Image Analysis Scientist - Digital Pathology & Histology

About the role

Labcorp is seeking an Image Analysis Scientist to join its Global Anatomic Pathology & Histology team in Geneva. The role advances digital pathology, computational imaging and AI-driven biomarker analysis that supports clinical trials and translational research, working alongside pathologists, laboratory scientists and multidisciplinary project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, optimise, validate and maintain digital image analysis algorithms for histology, IHC, IF and multiplex imaging applications.
• Translate scientific and clinical questions into measurable image analysis endpoints.
• Collaborate with pathologists and laboratory teams to ensure scientific accuracy and robust analytical solutions.
• Support the development and implementation of AI and machine learning approaches within digital pathology workflows.
• Design and run verification and validation studies, and prepare validation documentation, protocols and reports in line with regulatory and quality requirements.
• Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting support for digital pathology platforms and image analysis systems.
• Deliver training and guidance to internal teams on image analysis tools and workflows.
• Drive continuous improvement and stay current with emerging technologies and scientific literature.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biomedical Image Analysis, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Medical Imaging, Digital Pathology, Data Science or a related scientific discipline.
• Preferred: 3 years' experience in digital image analysis, computational pathology, medical imaging or a related field.
• Preferred: experience developing and validating image analysis algorithms for pathology or histology.
• Knowledge of biomarker analysis, clinical trials or companion diagnostics is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Familiarity with digital pathology platforms such as HALO, Visiopharm, QuPath, ImageJ/Fiji or similar tools.
• Basic programming knowledge in Python and/or R.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills, and excellent communication skills.
