About the role

The company is seeking an onsite IT Support Engineer to support a thin‑client device deployment project at its Opfikon site in Switzerland. The role involves preparing, installing, and decommissioning hardware while coordinating with the project team and end‑users.

Key responsibilities

• Report to the site at the scheduled time and complete all access formalities.
• Unpack, prepare, and build thin‑client devices for deployment.
• Verify inventory of new and legacy IT equipment.
• Validate end‑user information during desk‑side visits.
• Deploy and install thin‑client devices at workstations.
• Decommission, disconnect, and replace legacy hardware where required.
• Perform secure data wiping of legacy devices using Blancco software.
• Update asset records in the customer’s CMDB/ISAC system.
• Assist with onsite logistics, move equipment, and dispose of packaging according to site guidelines.
• Capture deployment status, report activities, and hand over any issues.
• Prepare legacy devices for collection, including packing and labeling.
• Report damaged, missing, or non‑functional equipment immediately.

Required profile

• Arrive onsite at the scheduled reporting time and follow all safety, security, and access procedures.
• Maintain professional communication with end users and project stakeholders.
• Complete deployment activities in accordance with customer standards and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Accurately update asset and inventory records.
• Escalate any technical, logistical, or site‑related issues promptly.

Required skills

• Experience with thin‑client device preparation and deployment.
• Proficiency in using Blancco software for secure data wiping.
• Familiarity with asset management tools such as CMDB or ISAC.
• Hardware installation, decommissioning, and inventory verification.
