Instructional Technologist

About the role

The Instructional Technologist will be based in Switzerland and will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing and continuously improving training programs for a next‑generation energy project. Working closely with engineering teams, project partners and regulatory bodies, you will ensure that learning solutions are structured, compliant and effective for plant personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Develop training programs, processes and procedures for a new training organization while ensuring compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements and accreditation criteria.
• Apply the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) methodology to design, maintain and improve high‑quality curricula.
• Create and update training materials reflecting plant design changes, procedural updates and operational improvements.
• Collaborate with management, emergency response teams, regulators and internal departments to enhance training effectiveness.
• Design reliable assessment methods, including examinations, simulations, laboratory exercises and on‑the‑job resources.
• Establish processes for performance reviews, trainee counseling and customized learning plans.
• Incorporate industry lessons learned, regulatory updates and operating experience into training content.
• Support preparation for regulatory inspections, accreditation reviews and compliance audits.
• Maintain accurate training records, reports and audit‑ready documentation.
• Assist leadership with planning, resource estimation and budget activities.

Required profile

• Strong instructional design expertise with experience developing regulated training programs.
• Solid understanding of regulatory standards and accreditation processes in the energy sector.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with engineering, safety and regulatory stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical skills to translate technical changes into effective learning solutions.
