About the role
This three‑month unpaid internship is based in Geneva within the Humanitarian Action Unit of the Emergency Response Section at the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). The intern will support OHCHR leadership’s engagement in the Inter‑Agency Standing Committee and contribute to the Unit’s work on humanitarian crises and organisational effectiveness.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in preparing policy briefs, strategic documents and resource‑mobilisation materials for the Inter‑Agency Standing Committee.
- Support field presences and staff training initiatives to strengthen OHCHR’s response to humanitarian emergencies.
Required profile
- Enrolled in a graduate programme or in the final year of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in law, political science, international relations or related fields.
- Demonstrated commitment to UN ideals and ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
