International Accounting and Reporting Director

About the role

The International Accounting and Reporting Director leads Alcon's global finance function, shaping accounting policy, governance and reporting across all international markets. Reporting to senior finance leadership, the role acts as a trusted advisor to regional and global stakeholders, ensuring consistency, transparency and control in financial statements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the evolution of the Finance Reporting & Accounting (FRA) function into a scalable international organization.
• Own quarterly International Balance Sheet reviews with the CFO and Head of FRA, aligning on risks, judgments and actions.
• Provide single‑point accountability for Global Technical Accounting, International FRA, Consolidations and Reporting decisions.
• Champion digital transformation and automation initiatives within accounting and reporting.
• Harmonise accounting processes and practices across regions, driving consistency and control.
• Conduct deep‑dive reviews of critical balance‑sheet and income‑statement items.
• Partner with regional teams to build a high‑performing finance talent bench.
• Lead resolution of complex accounting topics in collaboration with Global Technical Accounting and Controls & Reporting.

Required profile

• Senior finance leader with extensive experience in international accounting and reporting.
• Proven ability to influence senior executives and drive strategic financial decisions.
• Strong track record of building and scaling finance teams in a global environment.
• Excellent governance, risk and control mindset.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of IFRS and global accounting standards.
• Expertise in financial reporting, consolidation and revenue recognition.
• Experience leading digital transformation and automation projects in finance.
