About the role

Join VSL’s Technology Business Line in Bern as an International Mechanical & Digital Engineer. You will work at the intersection of mechanical engineering and digital technology, developing innovative structural health monitoring tools and supporting their deployment on real‑world construction sites.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the design and development of a permanent structural health monitoring system.
• Enhance user interfaces with new, innovative features.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver project‑related solutions.
• Test and validate cutting‑edge products, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
• Prepare comprehensive documentation for usage, qualification, and manufacturing procedures.
• Write detailed reports, present findings, and support international travel and on‑site activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in engineering or digital development.
• Proficiency in Python and/or C/C++ programming.
• Experience with data management, analysis, and sensor integration.
