Internship - Financial Restructuring & Consulting (Feb 2027)

About the role

Interpath, an international advisory firm with expertise in Deals, Advisory and Restructuring, is looking for an intern (m/f/d) for its Restructuring practice, starting in February 2027. The internship lasts at least 5 months and is based in the offices in Düsseldorf, Frankfurt or Munich, where you will support restructuring and turnaround engagements for companies, investors, lenders and other stakeholders. The minimum duration is 5 months.

Key responsibilities

• Support restructuring and turnaround engagements across a broad range of industries
• Assist with financial analysis, liquidity assessments, cash flow forecasting and business plan reviews
• Carry out financial modelling and analyse operational and financial performance
• Prepare presentations and turn complex financial analyses into clear, actionable insights
• Help project teams monitor restructuring initiatives and value creation measures
• Conduct market and industry research to support strategic assessments
• Work with consultants and managers in interdisciplinary teams

Required profile

• Ongoing or recently completed Master's studies in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field
• First exposure to corporate finance, restructuring, transaction services, audit, consulting or financial analysis (through internships or academic projects)
• Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles and corporate finance concepts
• Fluency in German (minimum C1) and English (minimum B2)
• Willingness to travel as required for client engagements

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft 365, especially Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience with financial modelling is an advantage
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication skills
