IT Application Support Specialist – 2nd Level Support

About the role

Julius Baer is looking for an IT Application Support Specialist to ensure the smooth operation of its core banking applications. You will provide 2nd‑level support, handling incidents, changes, and releases while collaborating with IT teams, business stakeholders, and 3rd‑level support.

Key responsibilities

• Process incident tickets from monitoring systems and the service desk within agreed SLAs.
• Coordinate communication between incident managers, application owners, 3rd‑level support, Agile teams, and business stakeholders.
• Take on periodic on‑call duties (weekly 24/7 rotation) and support weekend deployments.
• Administer change requests and ensure proper execution of application‑related processes.
• Participate in release activities, including batch job scheduling and monitoring (e.g., Automic AWA, Control‑M).
• Perform routine data cleansing, system maintenance, and documentation updates.
• Drive automation and handover of repetitive tasks to Level 1 support.

Required profile

• Completed IT training (degree in Computer Science or equivalent certification).
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in application support.
• Strong Linux knowledge; shell scripting is a plus.
• Solid understanding of Windows Server operating systems.
• Familiarity with Java application servers, databases, and workload automation tools.
• ITIL Foundation certification.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
