IT Deployment / Installation Technician (Band 2)

About the role

We are looking for an IT Deployment / Installation Technician (Band 2) to join our team in Zürich. The role focuses on preparing, installing and managing thin‑client devices for end‑users while ensuring accurate inventory and compliance with UBS procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and build thin‑client devices for deployment.
• Deploy thin‑client devices to users’ desks and perform on‑site validation of end‑user data.
• Conduct inventory checks for devices and legacy hardware.
• Wipe data from legacy devices using Blanco software.
• Decommission and remove old hardware, handling logistics and disposal of packaging materials.
• Update inventory and CMDB (ISAC) records accurately.
• Generate nightly reports on deployments, installations and any failures.
• Coordinate shift handovers and keep activity updates current.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely completion of deployment activities.

Required profile

• Experience in IT deployment, desktop support or installation activities.
• Ability to handle hardware installation and device replacement tasks.
• Experience with inventory and asset management.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Comfortable working onsite independently and following UBS operational procedures.
• German language proficiency at B2+ level.

Required skills

• Blanco software for data wiping.
• CMDB (ISAC) for configuration management.
