IT Security Engineer

About the role

Viseca Payment Services SA is looking for an IT Security Engineer to join its Security Architecture & Operations team in Bioggio, near Lugano. The engineer reviews architectures, defines security controls and works with infrastructure, cloud, network and application teams to build secure and resilient solutions. The start date is by mutual agreement.

Key responsibilities

• Review architectures and solution designs for compliance with security principles, standards and best practices.
• Define security requirements and recommend practical, risk-based security controls for projects and technology initiatives.
• Engineer, maintain and optimise enterprise security technologies, including SIEM, EDR/XDR, IAM/PAM, vulnerability management and endpoint, network and cloud security solutions.
• Develop and maintain security architecture standards, reference architectures and implementation guidelines.
• Conduct security assessments, threat modelling and technical risk analyses.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, operations, cloud and development teams to integrate security into platforms, services and processes.
• Support the investigation and resolution of security incidents and technical security issues.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and promote Secure by Design, Zero Trust and Defence in Depth principles.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information security, engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in IT security, security engineering, network security, application security or cloud security.
• Fluency in Italian is required; English proficiency is preferred.
• Availability to take part in on-call rotation outside standard business hours, according to team schedules.

Required skills

• Understanding of modern security frameworks such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), Zero Trust and Defence in Depth.
• Hands-on experience implementing and managing enterprise security technologies and reviewing technical designs from a security perspective.
• Experience in one or more of: SIEM/Security Monitoring, EDR/XDR, IAM/PAM, Vulnerability Management, Network Security (WAF/Web Proxy), Cloud Security or Endpoint Security.
• Preferred: security certifications (Security+, CySA+, SC-200, Azure Security Engineer, CISSP Associate, CCSP), Azure security services, automation, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and Agentic AI.
