IT Support & System Administrator

About the role

We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled IT Support & System Administrator to strengthen our IT infrastructure and provide high‑quality technical support to employees across laboratories and offices. The role ensures secure, efficient IT systems that enable seamless business operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑ and second‑level IT support to users in laboratories and offices using the ticketing system.
• Maintain, manage, monitor, and optimize server, network, and endpoint infrastructure across on‑premise and cloud environments.
• Implement and maintain IT security best practices, including patch management, access controls, and backup solutions.
• Administer virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V) and cloud services (Azure, AWS) where applicable.
• Manage identity and access management processes, authentication, group policies, and onboarding/offboarding activities.
• Troubleshoot complex IT issues and contribute to continuous improvement of systems and processes.
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date system and technical documentation.
• Plan and implement IT projects, system upgrades, and migrations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 3 years of hands‑on experience in IT support and/or system administration.
• Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and proactively while being team‑oriented.
• Interest in continuous improvement and optimizing IT processes.
• Experience with ITIL or structured IT support processes is an advantage.
