IT Support Technician

About the role

Boschung Mecatronic AG, part of the Boschung Group, is looking for an IT Support Technician to join its Customer Service team. The role combines infrastructure support, troubleshooting, system administration and technical assistance, working closely with Customer Service, Project Management, After-Sales and the IT teams to keep the company's platforms and bVision solutions running smoothly. It suits someone who enjoys solving technical problems and working with Linux-based systems and networks.

Key responsibilities

• Implement new IT infrastructure services and maintain the related technical documentation
• Support and troubleshoot IT infrastructure components and services
• Install, maintain and support IT services including SFTP servers, VPN solutions, IoT devices and Linux-based systems
• Monitor IT platforms, identify incidents and contribute to continuous improvements
• Work with databases such as MySQL in daily support activities
• Provide technical support to internal and external customers, subsidiaries and partners
• Investigate technical issues and help restore services efficiently
• Collaborate with Customer Service, Project Management, After-Sales and the IT Software/Infrastructure team
• Contribute to the reliable operation of the bVision software family and participate in the on-call service according to team planning

Required profile

• CFC in Information Technology (Informaticien CFC) or an equivalent qualification or professional background
• Practical experience in IT support, system administration, infrastructure support or a similar technical environment
• Good professional command of English and German; French is an advantage
• Structured, reliable and solution-oriented, with a strong hands-on mindset
• Able to work independently while collaborating with technical and customer-facing teams

Required skills

• Good understanding of GNU/Linux systems, ideally Debian-based environments
• Knowledge of network administration and technologies such as VPN and VLAN
• Familiarity with MySQL or other databases is an advantage
