IT System Engineer – Workload Automation & Managed File Transfer

About the role

We are seeking a technically skilled IT System Engineer to join our Workload Automation and Managed File Transfer team. The role blends daily operational tasks with engineering and project work, focusing on enterprise scheduling and file transfer platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and support enterprise scheduling and Managed File Transfer platforms, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of jobs, workflows, batch processes, and file transfer flows.
• Handle incidents, perform root cause analysis, and provide technical support to internal teams while ensuring compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements.
• Administer secure communication technologies such as SFTP, HTTPS, SSH, TLS, certificates, and PGP/GPG.
• Develop automation scripts and integrations to improve operational efficiency.
• Participate in platform upgrades, migrations, and implementation of new solutions, maintaining technical documentation and supporting audits.

Required profile

• Experience in system engineering, infrastructure operations, automation, middleware, or application support environments.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows systems.
• Proactive, hands‑on attitude with strong ownership, problem‑solving abilities, and good communication skills.
• Professional proficiency in Italian and English.

Required skills

• Workload Automation tools (e.g., Automic/UC4, Control‑M, IBM Workload Scheduler).
• Managed File Transfer platforms (e.g., Primeur Data One, GoAnywhere, Axway, IBM Sterling, MOVEit).
• Secure file transfer and encryption technologies (SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, SSH, TLS, PGP/GPG).
• Scripting languages: Bash, Python, PowerShell.
• Additional experience with REST APIs, SQL, Jenkins, Ansible, Splunk, Dynatrace, Jira, Confluence is a plus.
