Java Software Engineer – Bern (80‑100%)

About the role
Our client, a state‑backed medical technology company, is looking for an experienced Java Software Engineer to join the team in Bern. You will work on innovative digital health solutions that support clinicians and improve patient outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain mission‑critical medical software platforms using Java and modern frameworks.
- Collaborate with product, clinical and engineering teams to deliver secure, high‑performance systems.
- Implement and optimise REST and GraphQL APIs, database interactions and cloud‑native services.
- Participate in code reviews, testing and continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and technical documentation.
Required profile
- Proven experience with Java (11, 17, 21) and Spring ecosystem (Boot, Framework, MVC, WebFlux, Security).
- Hands‑on knowledge of Hibernate/JPA, relational databases and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
- Familiarity with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm) and DevOps tools.
- Experience working in Agile environments and a passion for learning.
- Nice‑to‑have exposure to medical‑tech or regulated industries.
