Junior Data Engineer – Databricks Lakehouse

About the role

Join Hilo by Aktiia to help build the data foundation for a world‑leading cuffless blood‑pressure monitoring solution. As a Junior Data Engineer you will work closely with a Senior Data Engineer to expand a Databricks‑based medallion Lakehouse from a research environment into a company‑wide platform that powers AI, analytics and clinical insights.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain data ingestion and processing pipelines within a Databricks‑hosted Lakehouse.
• Integrate clinical and legacy data from EDC systems such as Castor and RedCap, databases and archival sources.
• Explore unfamiliar, messy datasets, identify structures and inconsistencies, and turn them into reliable, model‑ready assets.
• Develop ETL/ELT pipelines that deliver clean, structured data for algorithm, machine‑learning and core‑technology teams.
• Document data sources, lineage and validation rules to ensure data quality and traceability.

Required profile

• Junior‑level professional eager to learn and grow under senior mentorship.
• Strong interest in healthcare or medical‑device data.
• Ability to work independently on ambiguous data problems and collaborate across cross‑functional teams.
• Good analytical mindset and attention to detail.
