Junior Logistics Manager – Basel

About the role

Viking Cruises is looking for a Junior Logistics Manager to join its Basel office and support the logistics and supply‑chain operations for its Ocean and Expedition fleet. You will coordinate the movement of goods worldwide, ensuring that ships receive the right supplies on time, in compliance with regulations and at optimal cost.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate planning and deliveries with internal procurement, freight forwarders, suppliers and port agents.
• Work closely with shipboard teams to keep all required products on board at all times.
• Monitor service‑level issues, process invoices and credit notes together with accounting.
• Handle deviations, delayed deliveries or emergency orders, including cargo redirection.
• Identify local regulations, ensure documentation compliance.
• Support freight‑cost planning and monitoring for managed ships.
• Drive process improvements and manage special projects within the procurement team.
• Follow corporate, safety and environmental procedures.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of experience in logistics or procurement coordination.
• Familiarity with international shipping regulations is a plus.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and capacity to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
• Can‑do mindset with a focus on results.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
