Junior Market Risk Controller

About the role

Join Julius Baer as a Junior Market Risk Controller and support the independent risk control function for global trading activities. You will help shape risk models, reporting and regulatory projects while working closely with trading and senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and adapt risk models and the overall risk framework to meet the evolving needs of front‑office and trading units.
• Produce daily market‑risk reports and ensure timely communication of risk insights.
• Collaborate with senior management on trading‑risk matters and provide analytical support.
• Assess new products during the approval process and review trading positions and hedging strategies.
• Develop and maintain market‑risk control IT applications.
• Participate in regulatory, trading‑space and group‑wide projects.

Required profile

• Higher university degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, Econometrics, Quantitative Finance).
• Several years of experience in a trading environment, such as market risk, valuation control, model validation or trading.
• Experience with front‑trading applications (e.g., Front Arena, Murex).
• Ability to work independently, take responsibility and motivate technically‑oriented teams.
• Strong communication skills up to senior‑management level.
• Excellent analytical abilities and deep knowledge of financial markets and products.
