Junior R&D Engineer

About the role

The Junior R&D Engineer will support the creation of next‑generation implantable electrodes and medical devices. Working in both a laboratory and ISO‑13485 cleanroom, you will collaborate with the Lead R&D Engineer and manufacturing team to turn innovative concepts into functional prototypes.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and manufacture prototypes of implantable medical devices and advanced electrodes.
• Assist in feasibility studies, material selection and manufacturing process development.
• Support verification and validation testing, including test‑setup design, bench testing, data analysis and documentation.
• Prepare technical documentation such as design specifications, manufacturing instructions and test plans.
• Execute production activities in a cleanroom environment while adhering to strict quality protocols.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to assess clinical, functional and manufacturing implications of design choices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science or a related field.
• At least 2 years of hardware experience in neurotechnology, biomedical engineering or a related discipline, or a recent graduate with a strong hardware project portfolio.
• Hands‑on experience in an ISO‑13485‑compliant cleanroom.
• Proven ability to work in interdisciplinary, fast‑paced environments.

Required skills

• PDMS processing (blade coating, spin coating) and related micro‑fabrication techniques.
• Molding and other fabrication processes.
• Wire bonding techniques.
• Photolithography processes.
• Knowledge of ISO 13485 quality system and US 21 CFR 820 regulatory requirements.
