Lab Technician - Synthetic Chemistry

About the role

We are seeking a Lab Technician specialized in Synthetic Chemistry to join a Basel‑based client in the pharmaceutical sector. The role involves executing synthesis experiments, supporting process development, and contributing to scale‑up and small‑scale manufacturing activities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform laboratory synthesis experiments safely and efficiently, adhering to project timelines.
• Support process development through experimental planning, data collection, observation, and analysis.
• Collaborate with process chemists and cross‑functional teams to evaluate results and define next steps.
• Maintain accurate electronic laboratory records in line with good documentation practices.
• Assist with scale‑up, troubleshooting, and production of non‑GMP and GMP batches as required.
• Ensure laboratory equipment, analytical instruments, and work areas remain safe, operational, and compliant.

Required profile

• Completed apprenticeship as a Laboratory Technician or an equivalent scientific technical qualification.
• Practical experience in synthetic chemistry and hands‑on laboratory work.
• Experience supporting process development, reaction scale‑up, or manufacturing‑related activities.
• Good understanding of laboratory safety standards, HSE requirements, and compliant working practices.
• Strong documentation, organization, and data‑handling abilities.
• Fluent English communication skills.
