Law and Policy Outreach Associate

About the role

The Law and Policy Outreach Unit offers a one‑year paid traineeship to support digital outreach, communications planning and content production for the ICRC’s law and policy initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement digital marketing campaigns on LinkedIn and other platforms, creating content, visuals and coordinating approvals.
• Maintain and grow the unit’s social media presence, producing posts, graphics and curated content on humanitarian law.
• Support audiovisual production by filming interviews and events following visual identity guidelines.
• Manage newsletters and email campaigns using HubSpot, edit and distribute content, and segment subscriber lists.
• Update contact databases, web platforms and the Humanitarian Law and Policy blog, ensuring timely publication.
• Assist in promoting LMP events through communication strategies and promotional materials.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in Communications, International Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Media or related field.
• 1–2 years of relevant work experience, including internships.
• Strong interest in international humanitarian law and digital communication.
• Excellent written and verbal English; additional languages (French, Arabic, Spanish) are a plus.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multicultural team.
