Lead Auditor Private Banking

About the role

We are partnering with an international private bank in Zurich to recruit a senior auditor who will lead the private banking audit function. The role involves acting as a key audit partner, providing internal‑control expertise and supporting risk‑based improvements across wealth‑management processes.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with business‑area management to deliver audit support and internal‑control expertise.
• Plan and execute risk‑based audits, offering consulting services to evaluate and improve wealth‑management processes.
• Identify weaknesses, analyse patterns and trends, and prepare comprehensive audit reports with practical risk‑mitigation recommendations.
• Conduct follow‑up activities to assess the adequacy of corrective actions taken by management.
• Perform annual risk assessments for Wealth Management units and propose the next year’s audit plan.
• Share computer‑assisted audit techniques, data‑visualisation tools and data‑analytics best practices to strengthen audit engagements.
• Contribute knowledge that enhances internal‑audit practices and broader risk/control initiatives.
• Travel up to 15 % of the time per year as required.

Required profile

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Economics or Finance.
• Audit certification (CA, CPA, CFA, CIA, CISA) is an advantage; fluency in German is mandatory.
• Relevant experience in Internal Audit, Risk Management or Compliance within an international or private bank.
• Strong understanding of private‑banking products and processes.
• Ability to work effectively in a matrix organisation.
• Excellent analytical, critical‑thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
• Team‑oriented with strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to challenge where appropriate.
• Outstanding organisational and time‑management skills, capable of handling multiple projects with varying deadlines.
• Strong IT affinity with advanced Excel proficiency.
