Lecturer and Head of MSc Resilient Cities and Communities

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic academic leader to head the MSc Resilient Cities and Communities programme. The role combines strategic programme management with teaching responsibilities at both bachelor and master levels, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration across the university.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development, organisation and operation of the MSc Resilient Cities and Communities programme.
• Design and continuously improve curriculum, teaching methods, quality assurance processes and resource planning.
• Manage the programme’s financial budget and ensure sustainable resource allocation.
• Promote interdisciplinary and interdepartmental collaboration with researchers and practitioners, facilitating knowledge transfer between teaching, research and practice.
• Represent the programme on internal and external committees and advisory bodies.
• Deliver lectures and seminars in Bachelor’s and Master’s courses related to resilient cities and communities.

Required profile

• University degree in a relevant discipline with extensive practical experience in urban development, planning or a related field, preferably in a managerial role.
• Recognised expert with a strong professional network in the sector.
• Proven teaching and leadership experience in a university setting.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
• Fluent in English and proficient in German or French.
• Research experience is desirable.
