Lifecycle Leader - Ophthalmology

About the role

Roche's Global Pharma Strategy (GPS) team shapes the strategic direction of its product portfolio, turning scientific discoveries into accessible healthcare solutions. As a Lifecycle Leader for ophthalmology, you will lead the strategy and portfolio of one or several assets from research through to the patient, acting as the single accountable person to the Late Stage Portfolio Committee (LSPC) and leading an integrated, global and cross-functional strategy and team.

Key responsibilities

• Shape the long-term vision and strategy of one or several asset programs, working with early development, Pharma Development, Global Pharma Strategy, medical affairs leads and external partners, and support early development, licensing and business development.
• Drive alignment and integrated decision-making with the Global Development, Technical and Commercial Leadership Teams, and build team capability in line with OnePharmaStrategy.
• Lead the proposal and delivery of indications, formulations, devices, diagnostics and digital tools, together with the evidence generation strategy, in collaboration with the Commercial, Development and Technical teams.
• Own the resource ask, resource use and the delivery of adjusted net present value (aNPV) to the LSPC, and continuously evolve the asset strategy to maximise its potential.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing, business management or life sciences; an MD, PhD, postgraduate degree or MBA depending on the product lifecycle is an advantage.
• Substantial pharma experience, including breakthrough development and/or commercial strategies that delivered strong financial results, and product management and launch experience.
• Therapeutic area experience is preferred.
• Proven leadership in building teams and influencing across functions, with strong synthesis skills and end-to-end collaboration across early to late stage development.
