Line Mechanic

About the role

Lonza is seeking a Line Mechanic to maintain and repair equipment in clean‑room and sterile environments, supporting the production of drug products. The role involves hands‑on troubleshooting and collaboration with engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Repair or replace malfunctioning mechanical and electrical components on aseptic filling lines.
• Perform functional tests to verify repairs and document maintenance activities.
• Execute manufacturing tasks in accordance with cGMP guidelines and track malfunction reports.
• Collaborate with Plant Engineering, coordinate work processes, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Completed EFZ apprenticeship as a mechanic or a related trade.
• Several years of mechanical experience, preferably in a pharmaceutical or clean‑room setting.
• Strong ability to read P&ID diagrams and technical drawings.
• Fluent German (essential) and good English skills.
• Willingness to work a 3‑shift schedule, including Saturdays and on‑call duty.

Required skills

• Advanced handling of SAP, Cornerstone, DMS, and Office 365.
• Interpretation of P&ID diagrams.
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting in sterile environments.
