Machine Learning Researcher – LLMs & Generative Models

About the role

Apple is seeking a passionate Machine Learning Researcher to drive long‑term, curiosity‑driven research on large language models, generative foundation models and agentic systems. The role offers the chance to influence the future of Apple AI and its products through high‑impact foundational work.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute independent research projects that advance understanding of machine learning.
• Implement experiments using state‑of‑the‑art deep‑learning frameworks.
• Collaborate with world‑class engineers and researchers across Apple.
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to teammates.
• Prepare technical reports, conference talks and publish results in top venues.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Demonstrated expertise in machine‑learning research with a strong publication record at conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, etc.
• Hands‑on experience with modern deep‑learning toolkits.
• Strong mathematical background in linear algebra and statistics.
• Ability to formulate research problems, design experiments, implement solutions and communicate findings.
