Maintenance Specialist

About the role

As a Maintenance Specialist at ABB you will lead processes that protect the efficiency, reliability and performance of highly automated production equipment and lines in our state‑of‑the‑art battery pack plant and converter lines. The role is based onsite in Untersiggenthal/Baden and works closely with the Traction Operations, Energy Storage Systems and Converter Production teams.

Key responsibilities

• Partial or full leadership of the Traction Operations maintenance group, coordinating activities and supporting team development.
• Define and implement maintenance strategies and plans to improve reliability, maintainability and safety of equipment and facilities.
• Introduce, develop and maintain CMMS tools while keeping technical documentation up‑to‑date.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues on automated production lines to ensure high availability.
• Drive continuous‑improvement projects in close collaboration with production development engineers.

Required profile

• Strong experience in industrial maintenance of automated production equipment (electrical, mechanical, automation).
• Solid knowledge of automation technologies such as PLC programming, robotics, sensors, industrial communication networks and automated production systems.
• Experience with maintenance concepts, troubleshooting, CMMS, machine diagnostics and reliability improvement methods (OEE, lean manufacturing).
• Understanding of production engineering principles or a strong willingness to learn.
