Maintenance Support Technician – Cryogenics

About the role

Join the cryogenics maintenance team in CERN’s Technology Department, supporting the preparation of the upcoming technical shutdown and integration of new cryogenic assets. You will work on world‑leading cryogenic systems that keep the Large Hadron Collider running.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and consolidate maintenance data in the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Support the planning and coordination of on‑site maintenance activities.
• Roll out new maintenance methodologies together with field technicians.
• Improve work instructions, checklists and quality‑assurance procedures used by contractors.
• Contribute to maintenance policies and best practices for new assets linked to the High‑Luminosity LHC project.

Required profile

• Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge.
• Experience with a CMMS.
• Ability to read technical drawings and understand maintenance documentation.
• Team‑oriented attitude, strong safety awareness and problem‑solving mindset.
• Fluent in English or French, with willingness to learn the other language.
• National of a CERN Member or Associate Member State, with up to two years of professional experience after secondary education.
